can gaming make a better world? being a generally tech savvy country, i don’t doubt that gaming or simulation can be used to improve our own society and solve social problems. but of course i take this with a grain of salt. how do we ensure that we can get a good representation of the society to do this simulation, and not just the ones who can own a computer?

on a different point along the same topic, i like the argument made by Jane about why are we better at gaming than we are in life. i most especially relate this in a more specific concern like why is it more fun to accomplish game goals than work/career goals? we can actually use Jane’s points as a model to figure that out. by seeking out how to improve our social fabric, understanding what can bring urgent optimism that leads to blissful productivity, which can only be possible if we can set the epic meaning of what we’re trying to accomplish.

sounds easier said than done, really. but being on the verge of an epic win is a great feeling to have on a daily basis than none at all.
