overheard at the office daycare
- Teacher: (holding an animal picture book) Ok children, what animal is this one now?
- Kids: A duck!
- Teacher: Yes, do you know the sound that ducks make?
- Kid M: Squeak squeak squeak!
- Teacher: No, not a rubber duck. I mean a real duck.
- Kid M: Oh! Quack quack quack!
Our little darling is 6 months old today
She’s fond of rolling over and crawling across the bed, wakes up really really early (unlike her parents), likes reaching for the computer and slap her hands across the keyboard, stares intently at anyone talking, has a habit of kicking her legs rapidly like a swimmer, has got more hair, her bottom front teeth are starting to show, drools a lot, and babbles loudly when she starts to get bored
all this stress.. i think is getting to my already low milk supply. and my baby hasn’t even started solids yet.

we’ve now entered our 3rd trimester, and we’re anxious as we are excited. i hope all will still go well and relatively normal just as it was in early and mid pregnancy.

Simon Sinek, TED speaker and author of “Start With Why”don’t get me wrong. i always try to be a good citizen for my country. i don’t litter, i observe road courtesy more than just obey traffic laws, i try to conserve water and electricity, etc.. while the seemingly half-wit masses disregard these and take on a “me and my conveniences first” philosophy in life. then they give us homer simpson’s lost brother to be president. you see where my disenfranchisement is coming from and am sick of this already. so let me make this clear… I AM NOT MOVING ON UNTIL I SEE THIS COUNTRY MOVE FORWARD! and if you don’t get it, well tough, you must have voted for him.

Anatole Francecan gaming make a better world? being a generally tech savvy country, i don’t doubt that gaming or simulation can be used to improve our own society and solve social problems. but of course i take this with a grain of salt. how do we ensure that we can get a good representation of the society to do this simulation, and not just the ones who can own a computer?
on a different point along the same topic, i like the argument made by Jane about why are we better at gaming than we are in life. i most especially relate this in a more specific concern like why is it more fun to accomplish game goals than work/career goals? we can actually use Jane’s points as a model to figure that out. by seeking out how to improve our social fabric, understanding what can bring urgent optimism that leads to blissful productivity, which can only be possible if we can set the epic meaning of what we’re trying to accomplish.
sounds easier said than done, really. but being on the verge of an epic win is a great feeling to have on a daily basis than none at all.
